01.Who we are

For the purposes of Law 25, Unikom Inc. is the enterprise that exercises control over the personal information collected through My Wrap™ activities.
02.Personal information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to deliver our services. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
• Identity and contact details: first name, last name, email, phone number, city, postal code, installation address. • Project information: type of project (kitchen, island, countertop, appliance, commercial), estimated surface area, chosen finish, approximate budget, desired timeline, free-form message. • Photos: pictures of your kitchen that you send us through the contact form, the quote form or the Visualizer tool. • Job applications: name, email, phone, position title, cover note, résumé, confirmation of geographic zone. • Cookies and technical data: language preference, cookie preferences, device type, browser (limited and anonymized, see the "Cookies" section).
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined by Law 25 (medical information, biometric data, political opinions, etc.).
03.Purposes of collection
Your information is collected for specific, determined and legitimate purposes:
• Reply to your request for a quote, consultation or information. • Prepare, sign and perform a services contract (kitchen wrap, resurfacing, etc.). • Keep you informed of the progress of your project (appointments, delivery, warranty follow-up). • Generate a visual preview through the Visualizer tool when you submit a photo. • Evaluate a job application you send us. • Send you our newsletter, only if you have expressly consented. • Comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations (retention of contracts, invoices, etc.).
No information is used for purposes other than those listed above without your prior consent.
04.How and from whom we collect
Your information is collected directly from you, when you:
• fill out a form on our site (contact, quote request, application, newsletter); • upload one or more photos in the Visualizer tool; • write to us by email or call 1 888-441-9727; • visit our site (technical cookies and preferences stored locally in your browser, subject to your consent).
We do not obtain your information from third parties or data brokers.
05.Cookies and tracking technologies
Our site uses a limited number of cookies, grouped into four categories: strictly necessary, functional, statistics and marketing.
Strictly necessary cookies (language preference, your cookie choices) are set by default because they are essential to the site. Other categories are only activated with your free, informed and revocable consent through the cookie banner or the "Cookie preferences" panel.
Under Law 25, your consent to non-essential cookies is never presumed. You can withdraw it at any time, with no impact on basic browsing.
06.Transfer of information outside Quebec
Some technical subcontractors that operate our site and services (hosting, email delivery, push notifications, Visualizer tool) process or host your information outside Quebec, primarily in the United States. In accordance with section 17 of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, we have carried out a privacy impact assessment (PIA) before engaging them.
This assessment confirmed that the legal regime of the destination jurisdiction, combined with the subcontractors' contractual commitments (encryption in transit and at rest, access control, limited sub-processors, deletion on request), provides protection equivalent to that required by Law 25.
Specific case of the Visualizer: photos you upload to the tool are transmitted to Google (Gemini artificial intelligence model, United States) for the duration of the preview generation. Under Google's policy applicable to this API, these images are not used to train the models. My Wrap™ does not retain your photos on its servers after preview generation, unless you attach them to an explicit quote request.
07.Retention and destruction
We keep your information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, then we destroy or anonymize it.
• Quote requests not converted into contracts: 24 months, then automatic deletion. • Signed contracts, invoices and accounting records: 7 years, in accordance with Quebec and Canadian tax obligations. • Photos uploaded to the Visualizer: not retained by My Wrap™ after preview generation (unless attached to a quote request). • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe via the dedicated link in each email. • Unsuccessful job applications: 12 months, unless you expressly consent to longer retention for future openings.
Once these retention periods have elapsed, the information is securely deleted.
08.Security measures
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction:
• TLS encryption across the entire site and all forms. • Administrator accounts protected by strong passwords and multi-factor authentication. • Access to information limited to those who strictly need it to perform their duties. • Subcontractors selected on the basis of their contractual and technical security guarantees. • Periodic reviews of our internal practices.
No system being infallible, we undertake to notify you of any breach presenting a serious risk of harm, as set out in the "Privacy incident" section.
09.Your rights
Law 25 grants you several rights regarding your personal information. You may exercise them at any time, free of charge, by writing to the Person in charge (privacy@mywrap.ca):
• Right of access: obtain a copy of the information we hold about you. • Right of correction: request the correction of inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information. • Right to withdraw consent: revoke at any time a consent given, without affecting the validity of prior processing. • Right to portability: receive your information in a structured and commonly used technological format, since September 22, 2024. • Right to cease dissemination / de-indexation: request that information about you cease to be disseminated or be de-indexed from search engines, where the legal conditions are met. • Right to object to processing: object to processing based on legitimate interest.
We respond in writing within thirty (30) days. If we refuse your request, we explain the reasons and the available remedies.
10.Automated decisions and profiling
The Visualizer tool uses an artificial intelligence model (Google Gemini) to produce a visual preview of your wrapped kitchen. This is an automated processing, but it does not give rise to any legal or significant decision concerning you: the preview is strictly illustrative and does not commit My Wrap™ in any way on the final result.
None of our other processing relies exclusively on an automated decision within the meaning of section 12.1 of Law 25. Every quote, application or warranty claim is reviewed by a human being from the My Wrap™ team.
11.Minors
Our services are intended for adults (18 years and older) or for minors accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 14 years of age without the consent of the holder of parental authority. If you believe such information has been provided to us inadvertently, contact the Person in charge immediately so we can delete it.
12.Privacy incident
In accordance with section 3.5 of Law 25, in the event of a privacy incident (loss, unauthorized access, accidental disclosure, etc.) presenting a serious risk of harm, My Wrap™ undertakes to:
• promptly take reasonable steps to limit the risk of harm; • notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI); • notify the affected individuals on a timely basis; • keep an internal incident register for at least five (5) years.
13.Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in our practices, our tools or the applicable legal framework.
Any substantial change is announced on this page by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. When a change has a significant impact on the processing of your information, we inform you through an appropriate means (banner on the site or email).
14.Complaints and remedies
If you believe your rights are not being respected, first write to the Person in charge at privacy@mywrap.ca. We will examine any complaint seriously and reply within thirty (30) days.
You retain at all times the right to file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, the authority competent to enforce Law 25:
